Samantar on July 17 to pay tribute to Padmashri Sircar

ALLAHABAD: To pay tributes to the legendary playwright and director Padmshri Badal Sircar, Samantar is organising a three day programme christened Badal Srijan Mahotsava starting from July 15 which would continue till July 17.
The programme would start with staging of play Juloos , Hindi adaptation of the play Michil, written by Badal sarkar. The play would be staged by the members of the samantar under the direction of Kansihka Singh.The play would be staged at the campus of Anglo Bengali Inter College and later in front of the Hindi department of Allahabad University.
Later, a photo exhibition dedicated to the personality of Badal Sircar would also be organized at the Nirala Art Gallery of Allahabad University . The exhibition would be inaugurated by Dr. Bisakha Ray, wife of Badal Sircar. Later, tributes would be paied to the legendry playwright by eminent artists of the city.
On Jul 16, there would be a theater workshop on Third Theater. In the second session, film Pakhira would be showed to the audience.
On the final day, there would be a theater workshop. Later, there would be a discussion on Badal Sircar. After, that there would be play reading of the different plays written by him. There would also be presentation of the film Lakshichaadaar Paanchali.
