Rs 7crore Kareli property of Atiq to be attached

PRAYAGRAJ: City police are gearing up to attach another property worth Rs 7 crore, owned by slain mafia turned politician Atiq Ahmed in GTB Nagar, Kareli, under the Gangsters Act.DCP (City) Deepak Bhuker has sent a report to the court of police commissioner for attachment of the said property.Police had identified properties of Atiq Ahmed in Kareli area, which he had acquired in 2004-05. The slain gangster had snatched this property (worth Rs 15 lakh in 2004-05) from a property broker and got it registered in his name. The property now costs around Rs 7 crore. After the killing of gangsters Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf, police of Prayagraj commissionerate launched a drive to identify slain gangster’s illegal properties.
