ALLAHABAD: Burglars made away with jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10,000 in cash from the house of a retired lecturer Prem Narayan in Jayantipur of Sulemsarai under Dhoomanganj police station on early Sunday.
Relatives of the victim told TOI that Prema Narayan along with his family members had gone to Delhi to meet his son.
The matter came to light on Sunday morning when Prem Narayan's relatives, who sty nearby, visited the house and found the locks broken.

They informed the police. A police team along with a sniffer dog and finger print experts rushed to the spot and started the investigations.
Police said the burglars had even broken the almirah in search of precious articles and escaped with jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh. A case has been lodged with Dhoomanganj police station. No arrest has been made so far.
