ALLAHABAD: The commuters and residents of Beli road, Traffic Crossing and adjoining areas continue to face inconvenience due to laying work of sewage pipelines.
Vehicles pass through these areas blowing away the dust. As a result of this, residents have started complaining about respiratory problems. They have demanded that the works be completed soon so that they get rid of traffic and health problems.
Rajapur resident Radha Kant said, "Tractors were earlier deployed to sprinkle water on dust mounds to check dust blowing but now even that is not done." He added that the one-and-a-half kilometre distance from Traffic Crossing to Beli Road power station is the worst affected.

Another resident, Ravi Tripathi, said: "Apart from the dust entering the houses, people are complaining about suffering from allergies, asthma, and respiratory problems. We have been forced to take extra precautions while passing through these roads."
Similar probelms are being faced by residents of Teliarganj and Mumfordganj.
"We are worried for our children who pass through these roads as they are vulnerable to dust allergies," said Swatantra Bajpai, who travels from Teliyarganj colony and Traffic Crossing road to drop and pick his children from school.
A senior citizen, 73-year-old Subash, complained, "Though the work of the lying of pipe lines has been completed, dust mounds have not been removed, causing all sorts of inconvenience to people."
Senior Medical officer, community health, Dr SAM Meesum, too said that there has been an increase in the cases of patients suffering from respiratory problems. He added that doctors have asked patients to take precautionary measures and avoid moving through such areas.
