ALLAHABAD: A 60-year-old farmer, identified as Ambika Prasad, a resident of Pavri village, was allegedly beaten to death by neighbours, on Friday morning. Dispute over land was cited as reason behind the killing.

Police, however, said a case under Section 302 of IPC has been lodged against

Shambhu Nath Yadav

and two others of the same village.

Inspector, Ghoorpur told TOI the slain farmer was allegedly attacked by his neighbour,

Shambhu Nath

and two of his sons, with the help of shovel and sticks, over a petty dispute. He added that the victim died on the way to the hospital.

Police, however, claimed that no injuries marks were found on the body of the victim and is waiting for post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death. No arrest has been made so far.
