ALLAHABAD: In order to train the newly elected women gram pradhan, district administration has launched project 'Parivartan'. Under the project, the illiterate and semi-literate women pradhans would be informed about the various developmental projects which are being implemented in the villages.
The main purpose of this training is to impart the main objectives of the various developmental programmes of the rural areas so that they can fully understand them.
This would help in better implementation of these programmes and the all round development of the villages.
Informing this, GS Naveen Kumar, chief development officer said that for preparing the training literature, DIET( District Institute for Educational Training) has been entrusted with the responsibility. Detailed information regarding various development schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Agency, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Mahamaya Arthik Madad Yojana, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Indira Awas Yojana and other programmes.
The steps are being taken for the empowerment of the rural women so that they can be better acquainted with the development programmes. Interestingly, these training would also be given by women. For this , about three academic counsellors would be chosen in each development block who would give training to these women.
It is pertinent to mention that Project Parivartan is an important project which is being managed by women at all the levels. At the district level, SDM Sadar B Chandra Kala would manage the project along with the resource group of DIET.
