Prayagraj fire services stress school, hospital safety
Prayagraj: Fire Services Commemoration Day was observed across all fire stations under the Fire and Emergency Services Commissionerate in the Sangam city on Tuesday. This year’s theme for Fire Service Week (April 14) — “Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention” — highlights the importance of collective efforts to enhance fire safety, particularly in high-risk areas such as schools and hospitals, while promoting a culture of prevention. On the occasion, a memorial parade was organised during which officers and personnel paid floral tributes to martyred firefighters and observed a two-minute silence. Commemorative flags were pinned on the uniforms of all participants in the parade. Chief fire officer (Prayagraj) Chandra Mohan Sharma addressed the gathering, lauding the dedication and hard work of fire service personnel and urging them to continue performing their duties with commitment and integrity. Later, the CFO flagged off a fire safety awareness rally that passed through various areas within the jurisdiction of different fire stations. Fire service units at Civil Lines, Naini, Meja, Bara, Koraon, Soraon, Handia, Phulpur and the High Court fire station also carried out extensive awareness campaigns by distributing pamphlets, posters and handbills at key locations across the city.
