Prayagraj: Covid-19 positive man commits suicide at SRN hospital

PRAYAGRAJ: A corona-infected young man from Fatehpur, who was admitted to the SRN hospital of the city, committed suicide by cutting his wrist, on Friday. Nodal officer of the corona ward at SRN Hospital Dr Sujit Verma has confirmed the death.
According to reports, the 28-year-old youth from Fatehpur cut his vain and succumbed to the hospital's Covid ICU on Friday noon.

At the same time, an elderly woman, resident of Kydganj, also infected with Covid-19, died at the SRN on Friday.
The youth was brought to SRN Hospital on July 21 and was admitted in ward number 10. The kidney of the young man was also infected and dialysis was done by the hospital authorities. He is said to have gone to the bathroom on Friday morning where he committed suicide.
When other patients and hospital staff noticed that he has not come out after a long gap, the door was opened by force and they saw the youth laying on the ground in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the Covid-ICU but died at around 3:00pm.
“The youth of Fatehpur was Covid-19 positive as was undergoing dialysis. He cut his arm in the bathroom on Friday morning and was admitted to the ICU but died in the afternoon”, said the nodel officer.
Principal, MLN Medical college, Dr SP Singh said, “The patient was suffering with kidney ailment and committed suicide, we tried to save him by giving him blood but unfortunately he died”.
