Plantation drive held to mark population day

ALLAHABAD: Various programmes were organized to mark World Population Day on Friday. People were made aware of ways to check rising population. A plantation drive was also undertaken on the occasion.
An NGO prepared about 101 Ganga Sankalp saplings and distributed it to prominent people of the city and urged them to plant it at crossings of the city.
These saplings were also presented to director of Allahabad Museum Rajesh Purohit.Further, Ganga Sankalp saplings will also be distributed to the people in coming days so that people can be made aware of the importance of river Ganga and the need to keep it pollution free.
