PIL against eve-teasing comes up for hearing

ALLAHABAD: A public interest litigtion (PIL) highlighting the growing eve-teasing violence against women in Allahabad city came up for hearing before the Allahabad High Court on Thursday.
After hearing counsel for the petitioner and state counsel, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud and Justice Dilip Gupta, on a PIL filed by Deeksha Dwivedi and Utpala Shukla directed that this PIL be clubbed with the PIL filed by Arushi Bajpayee highlighting similar issues.
In the PIL, the petitioner had requested the court to direct the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to check growing incidents of eve-teasing violence against the women in Allahabad.
