Over 22L get Kisan Samman Nidhi installment

Prayagraj: The 21st installment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi has been released into accounts of over 22 lakh farmers in the Prayagraj division. Santosh Kumar Rai, acting joint director (agriculture), said: "In Prayagraj division, as many as 22,61,379 farmers are being benefited with the 21st Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Till now, these farmers were given financial assistance to the tune of Rs 5,263.28 crore in the form of Kisan Samman Nidhi." He said: "Prayagraj district has the highest number of farmers, 8,30,936, and is closely followed by Pratapgarh (5,96,702), Fatehpur (5,78,860) and Kaushambi (2,54,881) farmers." This fund is being used in both farming and animal husbandry. With the Samman Nidhi, farmers are able to purchase fertilisers and seeds on time and are beginning to harvest early. This has increased crop production and nearly doubled the income of farmers.
