Official held on rape charge

ALLAHABAD: Colonelganj police on Tuesday arrested an inspector rank official, posted at soil conservation department, on the charges of raping his maid servant.
The accused was identified as Dilip Kumar, a native of Unnao. Police said Dilip raped his maid servant after promising to marry her.
Station house officer, Colonelganj, Chandra Dhar Gaur said a doctor and his compounder were also detained on the charges of conducting abortion of the victim.
Gaur said the maid had been working at the rented accommodation of the accused for the past one year. She alleged that Dilip forcibly established physical relations with her and when she became pregnant, he told her to go for abortion.
Dilip took her to a doctor in Hanumanganj who did her abortion.
Police said later Dilip refused to give money to the maid for treatment and even assaulted her. The girl then reported the matter to the police. Dilip has been booked under Section 376 of IPC.
