PRAYAGRAJ: With around 80% good trains being shifted to Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC), more space has been created for passenger trains to be operated on the main Delhi-Howrah trunk route. As a result, one of the popular trains between Kanpur and Bhiwani (
Haryana), Kalindi express has been extended till Prayagraj.
From August 5, this train, which will have all new LHB coaches, will start operating between Prayagraj and Bhiwani, the stoppage at Kanpur.
The time to reach the destination will remain unchanged.
Kalindi express will run till Bhiwani in Haryana via Mainpuri. Presently, this train is running between Kanpur Central to Bhiwani Junction. The extension of Kalindi has been approved by the Railway Board and as per the new time table, it will run daily and leave Prayagraj at 3:50 pm from August 5.
With this train, the passengers of the Sangam city will find it easy to visit Haryana by train. After being upgraded to LHB coaches, the journey would become more convenient and safe. Along with this, the speed of the train will also increase. From Prayagraj this train will be identified as number 14117. Whereas on its return journey (Bhiwani side), the number will be 14118. It is currently known as 14723-14724. Not only Bhiwani, but also traveling to Kannauj and Farrukhabad will be easy.
The train will reach Kanpur Central at 6.20 pm, Anwarganj at 6:43 pm and Farrukhabad at 9:50 pm and Bhiwani Junction at 9:05 am, the next morning.
