A team of cyber crime cell on Monday arrested a hardcore robber identified as Sher Ali, a resident of Mirzapur, near Hanuman temple crossing when he was planning to escape from city.

ALLAHABAD: A team of cyber crime cell on Monday arrested a hardcore robber identified as Sher Ali, a resident of Mirzapur, near Hanuman temple crossing when he was planning to escape from city. Sher Ali was wanted by state police in connection with several truck loot cases and was part of a gang of robbers.
Police have also been closing on four other hardcore robbers of this inter-state gang including Mustaq alias Bachchan, Brajesh Pasi, Dadaulli Kol and Tabrej, all residents of Meja in Allahabad who had executed several truck loots.

SP (crime) said that Sher Ali along with his accomplices had looted a truck laden with plywood after killing the truck driver and cleaner near Tharwai in Allahabad on December 12, 2014 when the truck was on its way to Satna in Madhya Pradesh from Rai Bareli.
The police said three of Ali’s accomplices, Rajababu Yadav, Mohd Akram and Arun Pandey, all residents of Allahabad were arrested a month back.
The modus operandi of the gang is simple. The gang members usually sit at road side eateries and pose as truck drivers and cleaners while interacting with targeted truck drivers. Once they able to win their confidence, they take their seat in the truck cabin and kill truck drivers and cleaners in deserted areas. The gang members used to carry sacks so that they could be able to dispose of the bodies of their victims in at deserted places. They sold most of their looted trucks in Varanasi, Kanpur and Bihar state, police claimed.
