Prayagraj: Amidst tight security arrangements, Muharram processions were taken out at Seikhpur Ashiq village under the limits of Kunda police station of Pratapgarh district on Tuesday. Uday Pratap Singh, father of Kunda MLA and president of Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik) Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiyya, is under house arrest at Bhadri House in Kunda on Tuesday.
Adequate police forces were also deployed around Bhadri house. Uday Pratap Singh, who staged a sit-in at the office of SDM Kunda demanding removal of a mosque-shaped gate in Seikhpur Ashiq village, was placed under house arrest for the past four days. Deputy SP (Kunda) Ajeet Kumar Singh told TOI that Muharram processions were taken out at Seikhpur Ashiq village amidst tight security arrangements. He added adequate police forces were deployed for procession. No untoward incident was reported. He also maintained that police and local administration continued to place Uday Pratap Singh under house arrest at Bhadri House on Tuesday. Adequate police forces have been deployed to maintainthe law and order across district, he said. Meanwhile,a puja was also performed at Lord Hanuman temple at Seikhpurvillage, Kunda amidst tight security.
