MoU signed at IIIT-A to develop nationalistic spirit among students
Prayagraj: Students’ Gymkhana of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) and Think India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday aiming at developing the nationalistic spirit and inspiring young India to be of service to the society.Think India- a pan India initiative to bring together the best talents of the country and to infuse in them a ‘Nation First’ attitude. It is a platform for the ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’, where they deliberate on issues of national importance, raise their concerns and offer innovative solutions to the problems faced by India. Sumit Pandey, national convener of Think India, said that the Think India felt the need to bind the students with an Indian nationalistic string to harness this part of national treasure.Students from IISc, IIMB, NIMHANS and NLSIU joined together to create a joint forum for the students from premier institutes of India in 2006. A formal forum took place at the Art of Living Ashram, Bengaluru, in 2007.The MoU was signed by office bearers of Students’ Gymkhana, IIIT-A and convener of Think India to better facilitate its internship, guest lecture and other activities in the nature of academic curricular and co-curricular events in the best interest of students.“Our endeavors, extending well beyond the confines of the classroom, will aim to enhance public welfare and our attempts to dissipate knowledge will spread to a greater multi and cross-disciplinary platform to conduct research, discovery, technology development, service to industry and entrepreneurship, in consonance with India’s aspirations to be a welfare state,” said Ashutosh Singh, associate dean (manpower), IIIT-A.He said that the MOU will be in effect from the date of signing and remain in force until three years.
