Memorandum to check plying of tankers in Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: A delegation of the City Congress Committee members handed over a memorandum to DIG, Allahabad range and demanded to check the plying of petrol, diesel, and gas tankers within nagar nigam limits.
Acting president, City Congress Committte, Tariq Syed 'Ajjoo' said, "fuel and gas tankers are plied in nagar nigam limit areas including Bamrauli, Mundera, TP Nagar, Meerapatti, Sulemsarai, Dhoomanganj, Panki Ki tanki, head post office, dhobi ghat, Sohbahtiabagh, and other areas claming that they are running inside no entry zone." He added that tankers should be given separate route for transportation and should be plied through Mandar Turn, - Puramufti-Kokhraj-Handia route.
He also added that tankers are running on streets where several schools and colleges are located and an immediate step should be taken to check the plying of tankers.
There were a number of road mishaps caused by tankers in city areas due to rash driving and there was an urgent need to take corrective measures. The DIG assured that congressmen that he would discuss the issue with authorities concerned. The delegation also included Raj Kumar singh, Vijay Srivastava, Mohd Aslam, Vijay Kant, and Anuj Singh.
