'Laser surgery has many benefits'

ENT and laser surgeon Dr Ashutosh Rai addressed a CME at Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) conference hall, on Sunday under the presidentship of Dr Shardool Singh, AMA vice-president. Renowned ENT surgeon Prof Mangal Singh chaired the session. Speaking on quantum of the problem, Dr Ashutosh Rai told the audience about the benefits of laser surgery over conventional surgery.He said the post operative pain, tissue injury and recovery time is much lesser in laser surgery. Laser can be used in large number of problem of oral cavity, nose and larynx with wonderful results, he said, adding, it is also useful in cancer surgery of nose throat and larynx. Prof Mangal Singh said that laser surgery is the future of ENT surgery. It can be used in most of the ENT cases which is the second highest OPD in most hospitals.Award: Urdu Markaz international award committee, US, has selected renowned Urdu critic and novelist Shamsur Rahman Farooqui for "Asar Lakhnavi" Urdu international award. The award ceremony will be held on October 8, informed general secretary of National Urdu Writers Association Khwaja Javed Akhtar.
