on Bhadohi-Jaunpur highway and seized illegal liquor consignment worth Rs two crore from them. Police have also seized two truck container involved in smuggling of illegal liquor (1,970 cartons), one Aadhaar card, one driving license and one PAN card from their possession. The arrested persons were identified as Mintoo Singh of Ambala, Jatin Kumar of Mohali (Punjab) and Bunty Khan of Ambala. Deputy SP (STF) Navendu Kumar told reporters, “The STF received a specific tip-off that an illegal consignment of liquor was being sent to many districts of UP andJharkhand
from Haryana, Punjab and Delhi via different highways.”A team of STF swung into action and intercepted the two truck containers with fake registration numbers near Sanjay Nagar, in districtJaunpur
on Bhadohi -Jaunpur highway. The arrested persons told the police that a man, named as Sahib Singh alias Gagga of Mohali, was involved in smuggling of liquor from Haryana, Punjab to different states. They also told the police that liquor smugglers were using WhatsApp chat groups as communication mode to deliver the consignments and stay in touch.
