High Court to hear Banda rape case on Feb 18

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court on Monday deferred the hearing in the rape case till February 18. PUCL today submitted its report in the court after meeting the victim in Banda.
The bench comprising Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice SC Agarwal, had taken suo moto cognizance of Banda girl's rape case and her fake involvement in theft case. On the court's direction, the girl was released from jail and was also provided security.
The Allahabad High Court had on January 15 taken suo moto action and directed to release the girl from Banda jail.The court had also directed the superintendent of police, Banda, to provide adequate security to the victim and her family members.
