High court quashes PIL seeking leaders' IDs

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad high court on Monday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) requesting the court to direct the authorities concerned to provide the petitioner a copy of the Voter Identity Card of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani.
The above order was passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr DY Chandrachud and Justice Dilip Gupta after hearing counsel for the petitioner Kaviram Society and additional solicitor general of India KC Kaushik, who represented the Government of India.
