ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition whereby the result of Provincial Civil Services (PCS)-2011 examination conducted by
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) was challenged.
The court dismissed the writ petition saying that no substantial material in respect of allegations made in the writ petition was placed before the court.
The above decision was given by a division bench comprising Justice Arun Tandon and Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra-I while dismissing a writ petition filed by Shekhar Singh Rathore and others.
The plea of the petitioners were that the examination and interview was not conducted fairly by UPPSC and due weightage has been given to the candidates belonging to a particular caste.
The writ petition was opposed by additional advocate general CB Yadav on behalf of the state government and Nisheeth Yadav, who represented the UPPSC.
Opposing the stand taken in the writ petition, the counsels pointed out that no concrete evidence in support of allegations made in the writ petition has been given. Further, no proof of any kind of partiality has also been given.
