HC seeks govt reply on police working

ALLAHABAD: On a PIL alleging that the state government is not complying with the directions issued by the apex court for improving the functioning of police department, the Allahabad high court has directed the state government to file reply (counter affidavit) explaining the steps which has been taken to comply with the judgment of Supreme Court in Prakash Singh's case.
On a PIL filed by Pranjal Srivastava, a law student and three others, a division bench comprising chief justice Dr Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud and Justice Dilip Gupta directed that the reply shall be filed on or before August 13.
The court directed to list this case on August 20 for next hearing.
