HC declines to quash case against UP chief of Muslim Personal Law Board
Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court declined to quash the criminal proceedings pending against Noor Ahmed Azhari, chairman of Muslim Personal Law Board, UP, over a viral video in which he allegedly said that BJP-ruled states were attempting to intimidate Muslims and trampled the Constitution.Noor also termed the killing of mafia Atiq and his brother Ashraf as a part of a govt-hatched conspiracy.Azhari was booked and a charge sheet was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pilibhit.After a summons was issued against him, Azhari moved the high court to quash the criminal proceeding pending against him.Justice Saurabh Srivastava, however, dismissed his application.
