HC CJ to administer oath to 2 judges today

Prayagraj: Chief Justice of Allahabad high court Justice Arun Bhansali will administer the oath of office to two new judges Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla at a ceremony on Monday. Both Rai and Shukla are advocates at the Allahabad HC.Earlier, in a notification dated Sept 6, the Union ministry of law and justice had notified the appointment of these two advocates as judges of Allahabad HC. While Shukla is a practising lawyer of Allahabad HC, Rai is a practising lawyer of the Lucknow bench of this court.The Supreme Court collegium had recommended their names on March 25.According to registrar general of Allahabad HC, Rajeev Bharti, all the judges of Allahabad HC will remain present at the event. The entire proceeding of oath taking ceremony will be conducted by the registrar general.In view of the oath taking ceremony, the court will sit at 10.45 am on Monday.
