Sri Sathya Sai Baba's birth anniv celebrated with devotion and service

Prayagraj: Members of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Prayagraj, organised several programmes, including religious events and those concerning human welfare, to commemorate the 99th birth anniversary of spiritual guru Sri Sathya Sai Baba.The programme commenced in the early hours of Thursday with 21 times chanting of Aum Kaaram, Suprabhatam, chanting of Vedas and nagar sangkirtan by the devotees. Thereafter, a huge cake was cut and distributed to everyone present, which was followed by birthday songs and bhajans.Laksharchana (taking the name of Bhagwan Baba one lakh times) was organised in Sai Kripa Mandir, Ashok Nagar, by devotees. All-religion bhajans were sung, and aarti was also performed on the occasion by a senior devotee of Sathya Sai and proficient bhajan singer, Kaustubh Pare.In the afternoon, Maha Narayan Seva was organised wherein inmates of the leprosy colony and the children of orphanages were served food, clothes, utensils, blankets and sweaters etc. The event was inaugurated by Justice Ashutosh Srivastava of Allahabad High Court. Bhagwan Baba's message of peace was propagated by releasing white pigeons and balloons into the air.The evening programme started in a specially erected pandal in Durga Pooja Park of Ashok Nagar with a Veda chanting programme by Bal Vikas children. It was followed by singing sarva dharma bhajan (all religion bhajan) by Sagar Sahu, a student of Sri Sathya Sai Music College, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.The programme concluded with maha mangal aarti of Sri Sathya Sai Baba performed by judges of Allahabad High Court. A number of judges of Allahabad High Court attended the event. The celebrations were conducted by the additional chief standing council, Allahabad High Court, Akhileshwar Singh.
