First batch of delegates to visit Sangam city on November 21

PRAYAGRAJ: With the first batch of delegates of Kashi Tamil Sangamam arriving in Varanasi from Tamil Nadu to attend the event on November 21, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership in Prayagraj have also started its preparations to welcome them in a grand manner.
There will be at least 11 batches of delegates including students, literatures, seers-saints, traders, professors, lecturers and rural areas representatives, who would be visiting Prayagraj from November 21 and December 17.
BJP spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI, “After attending Kashi Vishwanath darshan and Ganga arti in Varanasi, the first batch of delegates from Tamil Nadu will visit Prayagraj on November 21 and they would be visiting Triveni Sangam – confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati, Sangam located Hanuman ji temple, Chandra Shekhar Azad park and Swami Narayan temple before leaving for Ayodhya.”
Kesarwani further added, “BJP leaders and workers would welcome delegates at entry point and other locations.” The Kashi Tamil Sangamam is being organized by the union government as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and aims to uphold the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’.
The delegates coming from Tamil Nadu and other southern states including Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh will visit Kashi Vishwanath temple, Ayodhya temple, Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj and also witness the famous Ganga Aarti of Varanasi during their visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to formally inaugurate the event on Saturday. Kesarwani, meanwhile, said “The objective of sangamam is to rediscover, re-affirm and celebrate the age-old links between Tamil Nadu and Kashi and other ancient cities- the country’s most important and ancient seats of learning.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam aims to provide an opportunity for scholars, students, philosophers, traders, artisans, artists and people from other walks of life from the two regions to come together, share their knowledge, culture and best practices and learn from each others’experience.”
The delegates will be arriving in Prayagraj via road route. Duties of BJP Mahanagar, trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna workers have been assigned to welcome them at static locations. The first delegation will arrive in city on November 21 at around 11am and will stay in city till 2:30 before leaving for Ayodhya.
