Prayagraj: Over a dozen cars were reduced to ashes after a high tension wire fell on the parked cars inside an automobile yard near Andhawa road under the limits of Jhunsi police station in city here on Friday morning. Around six tenders took around one and half hours to control the fire.
No one was hurt in the incident. Chief Fire Officer (Prayagraj) RK Pandey told TOI, “Fire control room received the message of major fire inside the automobile hub at around 9:44 am and swung into action.
About half a dozen fire tenders from Civil Lines, Phulpur and Handia fire station were called in to douse the flames”.
CFO, meanwhile, said, “Fire broke out at car yard hub belonging to Bright For Wheeler Sales Prayagraj Ltd after wire of high tension fell on the parked cars and reduced at least over a dozen cars into ashes”. Eyewitness told police that the case came to fore when locals spotted fire inside the cars yard hub and informed the owner of the land.
