NEW DELHI: A fire broke out on Saturday morning involving two parked vehicles along the main road leading to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, officials said.
According to fire services officer Vishal Yadav, the incident occurred at around 6.30 am when a Maruti Ertiga car caught fire.
"We received information that a fire broke out in a Maruti Ertiga car at around 6.30 am. Six fire brigades and water tenders were sent immediately, and the fire was controlled. No one was harmed in the fire," he said.
"Devotees are coming from far-flung areas and have parked their vehicles here. The fire broke out due to extreme heat. Fire engines have reached the spot and the fire has been controlled. The Ertiga car is completely burnt and the Venue car is partially burnt. There are no casualties in the incident, everyone is safe," he added futher.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
