FIR against Atiq gang member for attempt to murder, extortion

Prayagraj: A Kaushambi resident has lodged a police complaint against a member of slain don Atiq Ahmed’s gang and notorious cow smuggler Mohd Muzaffar and his brothers for attempting to murder and seeking Rs 1 crore extortion.
As per the complainant Ram Jeevan, cow smuggler Muzaffar of Chapri village and his brothers – Mohammad Ashraf alias Chote, Mohd Aslam, Azam, Moazzam and others had grabbed his land at Ahmadpur Pawan village (8320sqm) in 2008-09 and started their brick kiln business illegally claiming to be henchmen of Atiq Ahmed.
He said when in 2019, the BJP government came to power he had contacted senior police and revenue officials and got his land back in 2022 after detailed probe and police action.
However, Mohd Muzaffar and his brothers continued to threaten him, police said. “On May 22, when I along with one of my close relatives were going to Prayagraj from Kaushambi, SUV-borne criminals led by Muzaffar waylaid us near Mandar turn and started thrashing both of us and threatened to vacate the land,” he said. tnn
