Deputy director of agriculture Pawan Vishwakarma said the main objective of the event is to provide farmers with information about new technologies related to agriculture and govt schemes. Over 10,000 farmers are participating in this event. Stalls from approximately 29 departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, agricultural cooperatives, PCDCF, defence, horticulture and fisheries, were set up at the mela. The govt is working with the priority of doubling the income of farmers. For this, it is essential to reduce the cost of agriculture and connect farmers with new technologies. Joint director (agriculture) Santosh Kumar Rai said such events are proving effective for this purpose. In this 5-day event, various institutions and companies working in the agricultural sector were given a platform to showcase their technologies and equipment to farmers. Two dozen institutions and companies are connecting with farmers here with their equipment and technologies. Demonstrations are also being held on the use of drones in agriculture so that farmers can become familiar with them. On the 1st day, over 2,500 farmers participated. tnn
