Exhibition on Rani Laxmibai opens at Culture department

Prayagraj: To commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Rani Laxmibai (Rani Laxmibai Balidan Diwas) a rare records cum photo exhibition was held at Kshetriya Abhilekhagar (Cultural department, UP) Prayagraj under the Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav here on Sunday. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Sahela Rasheed, head of Arabic & Persian department of Allahabad University. The centre of attraction of the exhibition was letters having signature of Rani Laxmibai, records pertaining to seizure of Rani Laxmibai properties, list of rani’s buildings in Varanasi, telegraph related to death of Rani Laxmibai, records related to hanging (fansi) and ‘kalapani saza’ to close associates of Rani Laxmibai. On the occasion, speakers also highlighted ‘Jhansi Ki Kranti’ topic. A painting exhibition was also organised and participants of all age groups participated.
