Prayagraj: The city traffic police will now enforce restrictions on the movement of e-rickshaws on several busy routes, including the Ram Bagh flyover, from June 1 under a monthlong pilot project.
The new traffic arrangement was initially scheduled to come into effect from May 21, but authorities postponed its implementation in view of Ganga Dussehra, Bakrid and various competitive examinations. According to the traffic police, the revised plan will now remain in force for one month beginning June 1.
Traffic police officials said barriers would be installed at designated no-entry points and additional personnel deployed to ensure compliance. Awareness campaigns will also be carried out among e-rickshaw drivers, vehicle owners and commuters regarding the revised routes and restrictions.
