Prayagraj: In a major development, the Pratapgarh district administration has cancelled the arms licences of two criminals allegedly involved in firing incidents on Thursday.The district magistrate acted on the report of the Pratapgarh SP and cancelled the licences.Superintendent of Police (Pratapgarh) Anil Kumar said that the pistol licence of Sushil Singh, block chief of Baba Belkharnath and resident of Ramkola, was cancelled after he was arrested and sent behind bars in connection with the Patti registry office firing case. Two people were injured in the firing on July 21. Sushil Singh was accused of executing the firing with his licensed pistol. An FIR was registered under sections 3(5), 191(2), 191(3), 190, 115(2), 352, 351(3), 109(1), 140(2), and 62 of BNS and section 7 of the CLA Act at Patti police station.In the second case, the rifle licence of Alim Khan alias Monu of Amamau Kakraha (Antoo) was cancelled after he was found involved in the Biharganj firing incident that also left two passersby injured. The accused executed the firing with his rifle on June 17. An FIR under sections 109(1), 110, 3(5), 351(2), and 352 of BNS and section 7 of the CLA Act was registered against him with Kotwali Nagar police station.
