ALLAHABAD: The Allahpur ward committee was held on Saturday. The corporators held discussions about the civic problems. The representatives from Allahabad Municipal Corporation, Jal Sansthan were also present.
Kamlesh Singh, corporator raised the issue of the construction of the broken wall of the electric crematorium. He also expressed concern over the failure to repair Morigate pumping station.

It may be mentioned that this pumping station is vital for the northern part of the city as it pumps out water. Failure to repair the pumping station would result in water-logging in areas of Allahpur, George Town and other low-lying places. The place witnessed water-logging due to excessive rains last year.
Corporator Shiva Tripathi demanded that the garbage bin near the telephone exchange at Baghambari Road should be shifted near the railway line so that accidents taking place on the road can be avoided.
Attention of the Jal Sansthan engineer was brought towards the non-functioning of the pumps of Daraganj boosting station and the tubewell in the area. The corporators urged for cleaning the overhead tanks of Allahpur region and the underground tank at Bhardwaj Ashram. They also urged for cleaning of manholes.
Concern was expressed over the poor condition of the street lights. They have urged for ensuring adequate lighting at the University area, Deoraha Baba Colony, Amitabh Bachchan Road, Sarvodaya Nagar, Krishna Kunj, Radha Raman College and other places.
The meeting took place under the chairmanship of Anand Ghildiyal, president of the ward committee. Corporators Anamika Chowdhry, Kamlesh Singh, Shiva Tripathi, Anuradha Kushwaha, Umesh Kumar and Ramesh Chandra Yadav took part in the meeting. Subhash Pandey, zonal officer of Allahabad Municipal Corporation, DP Singh, additional health officer and assistant engineer of Jal Sansthan were also present.
