Cop shot at by miscreants

ALLAHABAD: A police constable, Ram Pratap Singh, posted at Kokhraj police station suffered gun shot injuries when a group of four miscreants opened indiscriminate firing on a police party near Mooratganj under Kokhraj police station in Kaushambi district on Tuesday.
The incident, according to reports, took place when a police team comprising four constables had gone to check the news of a slaughter of a blue- bull (Neelgai) and were attacked by miscreants when they tried to object them.The miscreants opened fire on police party and left one constable injured.
Station officer, Kokhraj police station told TOI that the cop, Ram Pratap Singh, had serious wounds on his thigh but his condition was stated to be stable. He was admitted to SRN hospital.
The miscreants, however, managed to escape.
