Prayagraj: Regional president of
Congress in UP and former MLA Ajay Rai on Tuesday said the party will contest the forthcoming urban municipal polls strongly on all posts.
Lambasting BJP-led Union and state governments, Rai said that the state government has failed to make the city streets free of potholes.
Rai was given a warm welcome by party leaders and workers in the city on Tuesday.
Addressing the party workers at the district headquarter, Rai said, “People of the state are fed up with rising prices of essential commodities. The government has failed to check unemployment.”
Rai said, “The
BJP had formed its government at Centre through ‘jumla’ (idiomatic expression) and now people have come to know its reality as it has nothing to provide to the people.”
Referring to the Gujarat bridge tragedy, he claimed that more than 28 bridges in UP were in shambles.
Prominent party leaders including Haseeb Ahmad, Mukund Tiwari, Jitesh Mishra, Talat Azeem, ArunTiwari, Suresh Yadav, Sanjay Tiwari were present on the occasion.
