ALLAHABAD: A writ petition has been filed before the Allahabad High Court by senior Congress leaders, including two Union ministers Jatin Prasada and RPN Singh, and CLP leader Pramod Tiwari seeking stay of their arrest in a criminal case registered against them with Jhunsi police station of Allahabad district for allegedly beating up a youth during the recent rally of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi at Phulpur.

The complainant has alleged that he wanted to to submit a memorandum for restoration of student's union election in Allahabad University to Rahul but was the senior congress leaders, including two union ministers, beat them up for no fault.
