Conference on Dalit writings

Dalit Resource Centre, a unit of Manav Vikas Sangrahalaya and part of the Centre for Culture, Power and Change at GB Pant Social Science Institute would organise a conference on March 20 and 21.

ALLAHABAD: Dalit Resource Centre, a unit of Manav Vikas Sangrahalaya and part of the Centre for Culture, Power and Change at GB Pant Social Science Institute would organise a conference on March 20 and 21. The theme of the conference will be `Marginality and creativity'.
Project director, Dalit Resource Centre, Badri Narayan said the objective of the conference is to evaluate the role of marginality in generating creativity.

"We will try to understand the multiple forms of production, dissemination and conjunction of Dalit popular writings," he said.
There will be three lectures on: Dalit community and popular cultural forms, Fighting from the margins - letters and literature and Marginality of marginalised communities which will be delivered by Sharan Kumar Limbale (Dalit Writer, Pune), GN Devy (socio-linguist and activist, Baroda) and Bishnu Mohapatra (programme officer).
Kanwal Bharti (Rampur), Liladhar Mandloi (New Delhi), Devendra Chaubey (JNU, New Delhi) and several others will attend the conference. There will be a poetry session in the evening on both the days around the theme of the conference.
