Prayagraj: With the city reeling under intense heatwave-like conditions, the district administration has revised the school timings for all institutions up to Class 8.
Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Anil Kumar, said all schools will now function from 7.30am to 12 noon, with the revised schedule coming into effect from April 20. The order applies to all schools in the district, including council-run, aided and recognised institutions, as well as CBSE, ICSE and other board-affiliated schools.
Officials said the extreme afternoon heat poses a serious risk to young children, and therefore it was necessary to reduce exposure during peak hours. By advancing school closure to noon, authorities aim to ensure that students return home before the harshest part of the day begins.
Meanwhile, the hot weather conditions continued to create problems for the denizens on Saturday as well. The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 44 degrees, the same as was recorded on Friday.
