ALLAHABAD: The ward committee meeting of Allahabad Municipal Corporation was held on Monday. Civic problems in Allahpur, Matiyara Road, Alopibagh, Colonelganj, Daraganj and adjoining areas were discussed. AMC officials were also present.
Corporator Anu Ghildiyal said that proper co-ordination should be ensured between the different departments of Jal Sansthan, Jal Nigam, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Allahabad Municipal Corporation before undertaking any developmental work.

He said that BSNL should remove its non-functioning poles. Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam should lay the water and sewer pipelines on the streets where the roads under the 12th Finance Commission are going to be constructed.
The meeting also raised objection over the purchase of a street cleaning vehicle. Instead, they supported that this money should be utilised on cleanliness through sanitary workers. It was demanded that a new tubewell should be installed at Allahpur so that water crisis in Kailashpuri Baghambari Gaddi, and Mori slum area should be solved.
Corporator Kamlesh Singh said that AMC should ensure proper cleaning of drain from Morigate pumping station to Gaughat before the Magh Mela so that pilgrims do not face any problems.
Daraganj corporator Anamika Chowdhry has urged the streetlight department for the installation of sufficient number of lights in Deoraha Baba Colony.
Anuradha Kushwaha, Shiva Tripathi, Shiv Sewak Singh and other corporators took part in the meeting. Health officer SSP Verma and others represented the AMC.
