ALLAHABAD: Demanding action against those responsible for lodging of FIR against Bishop, Diocese of Lucknow, hundreds of persons laid a siege around the Civil Lines police station on Tuesday. They raised slogans against the district authorities and demanded withdrawal of FIR.
Ashish Paul, the spokesperson of Diocese of Lucknow said that the protestors accused the police authorities of conniving with their rival group by promptly lodging an FIR against the former, but failed to act against the other group despite repeated efforts.
The group also demanded security at the Bishop's house citing threats from the rival group.
Meanwhile, the legal advisor, Diocese of Lucknow, Sushil Mishra has strongly objected to the inclusion of names of some lawyers in the FIR.
When contacted, Rajvir Singh, station house officer, Civil Lines said, "We have received a complaint regarding inclusion of names of persons in the FIR, who allege that they were not present at the spot. The whole matter is being investigated and action would be taken against those found guilty."
Some unidentified persons had demolished the boundary wall of an English medium girls school in Civil Lines on Monday, after which the school authorities had lodged an FIR.
