ALLAHABAD: To
protest against the absence of basic facilities at the office of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and derogatory remarks by a senior member, lawyers practising at CAT continued their agitation and boycotted work on Saturday.
Giving this information, advocate LM Singh said lawyers are unhappy over the decision taken by a CAT member to deploy police force on the CAT campus.
The lawyers held a meeting on Saturday and expressed concern over the failure of CAT authorities to resolve the deadlock and address their demands.
The meeting unanimously decided to boycott work on Monday and send a delegation to meet the CAT chairman in New Delhi and apprise him about the demands of lawyers. The lawyers have demanded better facilities at CAT premises and transfer of the CAT member who took the decision to deploy police on the premises.
President, CAT Bar Association, Raghvendra Pratap Singh urged the lawyers to lend support to the agitation of CAT lawyers.
