The new office bearer of Allahabad University Teacher Association (AUTA), have been elected.

ALLAHABAD: The new office bearer of Allahabad University Teacher Association (AUTA), have been elected. The election for this was held on Tuesday.
For the post of president, Prof GC Tripathi of the department of Economics defeated Dr Harsh Kumar of the department of Ancient History by the margin of seven votes, while Dr KS Pandey of the Hindi department polled third.

Similarly, for the two posts of vice president Prof Ram Kripal of Physics and Prof Manjula Jaiswal of the Sanskrit department were declared elected.
Likewise, for the post of general secretary, Dr Sheo Mohan Prasad of Botany defeated Dr Shashi Kant Rai of the Ancient History department. Remarkably, the polling and results for the union for teachers were held on the same day, when hundreds of students were chased by the police, as they demanded students union at the campus.
