Allahabad University makes online fee deposit mandatory

ALLAHaBAD: Taking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cashless economy,

Allahabad University

has made it mandatory for students to pay all

fees online

. Authorities would install

swipe machines

at

Pravesh Bhawan

and the guardians must pay the fee using their credit or debit cards.

Chairman admission committee Prof Manmohan Krishna said that the decision has been taken as per University Grants Commission's order.

"The parents are advised to carry debit or credit cards with them while coming for counselling at Pravesh Bhawan so that after getting the admission, they would be able to deposit the fee through online mode", said Prof Krishna.

The authorities have also asked all the aspirants to bring their Aadhaar cards during admission. "Since the Aadhaar number of each of the student is required for a number of reasons including posting the details on the varsity website, aspirants have been advised to submit their Aaadhaar numbers while seeking admission", said the director admission.
