Allahabad: International level crossing awareness day observed

ALLAHABAD: The

International level crossing awareness day

was observed by the Allahabad Division of

North Central Railways

(NCR) on Thursday.

To make the public and passengers aware about level crossing, the division has made five teams consisting of railway safety counsellor, traffic inspector, PWI and railway protection force (RPF) personnel.

PRO, Allahabad division, SK Gupta informed that team A organized awareness campaign in Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Allahabad section on level crossing number 3A, 7B, Mirzapur station, bus stand and market etc. Likewise, team B organized awareness campaign in Allahabad-Kanpur section and team C organized awareness campaign in Kanpur-Tundla section.

Team D undertook awareness programmes at the Tundla-Gaziabad section and team E organized awareness campaign in Naini-Manikpur section.

Under the awareness campaign all the teams and railway employees communicated with the passengers and the citizens were made aware to follow the traffic rules and take precautions before crossing the railway lines.

To spread the awareness, stickers of safety rules on two-wheelers and four-wheelers were also pasted. Road shows were done on the station and bus stand and safety pamphlets were distributed. This campaign was carried out in the entire division, especially in Aligarh, Tundla, Shikohabad, Rura, Panki Dham, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Allahabad, Mirzapur, Mainpuri, Shankargarh stations and level crossings at markets and bus stands near these stations.
