Allahabad: Bid to kidnap railway employee foiled, one held

ALLAHABAD: The

Sadar Bazar

and foiled kidnapping bid of a railway employee.

Police said two car-borne miscreants were forcibly taking

in their car for seeking ransom but were intercepted. While one was arrested on the spot, the other managed to flee. The arrested miscreant,

Alok Srivastava

, is a resident of Shankargarh while his absconding accomplice has been identified as

Vivek Kesarani

.

SHO Vijay Vikram Singh said: “S-I Uprendra Pratap Singh had a narrow escape during the operation as the miscreants made a futile attempt to hit him by their vehicle. Gupta is posted as technician-III at Shankargarh railway crossing depot.”

The two miscreants late on Wednesday night barged into the Shankargarh railway crossing depot and thrashed technician (II) Parasnath Yadav severely. Later, they forcibly took Gupta into their car and sped towards Reewa road. In the meantime, the injured technician approached a patrolling police team and apprised it about the incident.

The patrolling police team along with PCR traced the location of the car belonging to the kidnappers and stopped it near near Sadar Bazar, Hathi Gate road. When SI challenged the miscreants, they tried to overrun him under the car. However, the car collided with a roadside electric pole and the S-I had a narrow escape, police said.

Raids were being conducted to arrest the absconding miscreant.
