ALLAHABAD: The city police on Wednesday arrested three persons on the charges of trying to circulate

. The police have also seized fake currency worth Rs 3.61 lakh, printer, scanner, paper cutting machines, laptop, hard disc, CD drive, 13 sim cards, Aadhaar cards, coloured ink bottles, etc., from their hideouts.

The arrested persons were identified as Ajay verma alias Kali Prasad of Dhoomanganj, Deepak Kumar of Malviya Nagar and Amrendra Kumar of Karchana.

Inspector (George Town) Nishikant told TOI that acting upon specific input, police arrested Amrendra Kumar Patel near Ramleela Park Road and seized fake currency worth Rs 29,000 from his possession.

On being quizzed, Amrendra confessed that two of his accomplices were involved in large-scale printing of fake currency notes at a rented accommodation near Hira Halwai crossing.

The police team later carried out a raid at their hideout and managed to seize fake currency and other items.
