Prayagraj: Sanatan Dharma appears to be attracting foreigners with the message of peace, as is evident at the Maha Kumbh where 61 foreign devotees took initiation from Jagadguru Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi and accepted Sanatan on Thursday.
Amid the recitation of Vedic mantras at Shaktidham Ashram situated in Sector 17 of Kumbh mela, the foreign devotees were seen dancing and singing to the tune of ‘Om Namah Shivay'.
Catherine Gildemin, who works in the field of orthopaedics in Belgium and took guru diksha, says that the hustle and bustle of everyday life increased the stress in her life a lot. Her personal life was also not going well, due to which she came across Sanatan, and her life got a new direction.
David Harrington, who works in the field of sales and marketing in Ireland, says that the simplicity of Sanatan drew him across the seven seas to India. He says that Sanatan is the only way of life that does not impose anything on you. Its ease and simplicity fascinated him from the very beginning, he says.
Olivier Giulieri, who works as a software engineer in France, says that even after having everything in life, something was amiss.
He was searching for himself, and that search ended by coming to Sanatan. His life got a new direction in the presence of Jagadguru Sai Maa, and he accepted it by taking guru diksha from her. For this, there could hardly be a bigger opportunity in his life than Maha Kumbh, he adds.
Among those who took diksha were architect Matthew Lawrence from the United States, physician Andre Anat from Canada, Jenny Miller working in the energy sector in the United States, IT developer Matthew Savoie from Canada and health and safety consultant Christel de Cat from Belgium. More than 200 foreigners received Sanatan diksha at the camp of Shakti Dham during this Maha Kumbh.
In 2019, inspired by Sai Maa, nine foreign disciples, including three women, embraced Hinduism and received the title of Mahamandleshwar. Sai Maa's devotees include residents of more than 12 countries around the world who have now accepted Hinduism. There are many of her devotees in Japan, America, Israel, France and many other European countries.
