Prayagraj: The 44-day long Magh Mela has entered its final stage with the 6th and last main snan of Mahashivratri on Feb 15, leaving behind a historic legacy shaped by the unwavering faith of over 22 crores devotees, presence of kalpwasis and the blessings of revered saints.Describing Magh Mela as a timeless symbol of Sanatan culture and social harmony, seers, saints and devotees hailed the event as one of its kind in the country.

The Mela administration has made elaborate security arrangements anticipating the presence of 15-20 lakh devotees with special focus on crowd and traffic management plans at prominent Lord Shiva temples near Sangam. SP (Magh Mela) Neeraj Pandey told TOI: "Focus has been laid on crowd and traffic management at prominent Lord Shiva temples, including Mankameshwar Temple, Someshwar Mahadev Mandir, Shankar Viman Mandap, Nagbasuki Temple, Sangam Lord Hanuman Temple, etc." The SP said barricading and deployment of police forces were drafted in and around prominent Lord Shiva temples to regulate the flow of devotees. Moreover, cops in plain clothes will also be deployed.
